Our orange powder puff of a President-elect Donald Trump still has a Twitter account. Our pathologically narcissistic new head of the Executive Branch of our government is also powerfully thin-skinned, holds grudges, and is the definition of a petty person. Last night, Arnold Schwarzenegger hosted the season premiere of the new Celebrity Apprentice. The ratings were not very good. Donald Trump would rather not be seen as having anything to do with this ratings failure and so he’s going to throw Schwarzenegger under the bus in a pissing contest.
Realistically, there are a few reasons Celebrity Apprentice is failing—one is that people hate Donald Trump and anything that he is even tangentially connected to now that he is our less than popularly elected president. Another reason is that when Celebrity Apprentice first began, people still watched television as it aired in large numbers. This was before the vast proliferation of streaming services and high speed internet access. Regardless of what you thought about President Obama, he was a serious and intelligent person. Donald Trump is neither of those things.
